Starting Our Year: 3's Sept 2019

The beginning of the year is about being part of a community by making new friends and learning a new routine.  Lots of free choice centers start the day.

"Leader" days are always special.  Calendar counting and saying the pledge are just a few special "jobs" for leaders.  The leader helps get Circle Time off to a great start!

Outside play is a great opportunity to get to know each other and, of course, a favorite time of day!

Smiling Faces

One of my favorite activities we have done this year is to give the four-year-olds their own camera.  They may use the camera to take pictures throughout their day.  I have so enjoyed seeing the world from their perspective - sometimes a blur, sometimes completely in focus, sometimes serious, sometimes silly, sometimes curious ... you get the idea.  Some of the pictures I have enjoyed the most are ones that just capture the smiles of others.  Here is a collage of some of the smiles that have been caught throughout the months and here's to hoping we get to experience a lot more of them soon!

Springtime Fun - 3's

Jelly Bean sorting was a favorite activity in April.  I'm thinking getting to eat some jelly beans had something to do with that!

Alligator Alphabet match

Bugs and play dough, of course.

Easter Party!

Singing at the PEEP festival.

Farmer Day Fun with the 3's

"Milking" a cow and playing all sorts of farm games brought lots of fun and excitement during March.

Dress like a farmer day!

Bugs in a Bin!

If you need any gardening tips, you can check with these 3's!

Everybody loves "Swat a Letter".

Time for a little exercise!

3's: Catching Up

February began with a unit on dental health.  The classes took some eggs and placed them in water, coke, vinegar and salt.  The left them for a few days and tried to brush the eggs with some toothpaste and toothbrushes.  This experiment was as interesting for the adults as it was for the students!

Taking care of our teeth is important and so is practicing safety.  Fire and weather drills were practiced.

And some pj party fun with a pillow fight!

Center time fun at the office

 or reading books.

With lots of hugs to go around!
