We tried a new recipe this year to make snowmen and really enjoyed the process. Though the smell could be a little overpowering, we had a good time making snowmen using soap!
First, we put the soap in a bowl and place it in the microwave. We weren't really prepared for what they said would happen - what a fun and interesting surprise!
The soap expanded and cooled quickly.
It was an interesting sensory experience to break up the soap into small pieces.
After adding a few other ingredients, we made our snowmen!
Next time maybe we will have enough real snow to make real snowmen!
The goal of the Presbyterian Early Enrichment Program (PEEP) of the Beulaville Presbyterian Church is to provide a loving, accepting Christian atmosphere that will enable children to grow socially, spiritually and emotionally. PEEP shall be a service both to members of the congregation and the local community. There are classes for 2's, 3's and 4's.

4's: Winter Manipulatives
We have really enjoyed the winter theme and correlating things associated with winter into our daily activities. Marshmallows were used as snowballs so often that when a bag was opened recently they cheered, "Look, more snowballs!" I'm sure their excitement had something to do with SNACKING on the snowballs, I mean marshmallows but they sure did seem to enjoy our center time activities. Something about counting with marshmallows that makes it fun!
Games with dice also provide a lot of fun. We took turns rolling the dice, counting the dots, finding the corresponding number and picture cards.
It's okay with us if winter continues for another six weeks - as long as we have a supply of marshmallows!

3's: Jumping Over the Candlestick
Jack wasn't the only one jumping over the candlestick in the 3's room and what form they displayed as they took their turn jumping.
Preparing to jump.
the long jump,
And those that hurdled the candlestick.

The high jumpers,,
the long jump,
And those that hurdled the candlestick.
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, how would you jump over the candlestick?
2's: January Self-care skill
These are just some of the cutest pictures of our two's working so hard on their January self-care skill. Learning to put a coat on can be somewhat of a frustrating task at times but these determined little ones didn't give up!
A good start!
Trying to get the coat over the head can be quite challenging!
Sometimes you just have to take a break.
And sometimes all that hard work pays off!
Needless to say, there was such a sense of accomplishment!

Thank You
Words just don't seem adequate in expressing how much I appreciate the thoughtful and beautiful gift given to me this Christmas, a one-of-a-kind and personalized Art of Hope painting. It brightens my office and cheers my heart and soul when I look at it. With all my heart, thank you. Philippians 1:3 expresses my heart and I like this version a lot, "I thank my God for all the memories I have of you." (GWT)
4's: Christmas Celebrations
What a joyous and fun time the Christmas season is. We enjoyed our celebrations with friends and family.
The Beulaville Christmas Parade - A BIG thank you to Seth and Sarah Turner and all who helped with decorations!.
Learning about trains was a lot of fun, ending with a Polar Express Celebration. We made hot chocolate and found silver bells in our shoes!
In addition to our Christmas party on our last class day, we performed a play about Jesus' birth and gave family their Christmas presents that were individually wrapped during class by each student. They were so excited!
Christmas play.
Wrapping presents.
Ready to share.
Giving presents to family.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
