4's: Apples, Apples Everywhere!

In September, apples were everywhere in our classroom.  Real apples, paper apples, plastic apples and painted apples to name just a few.

They used apple letters to find the letters in their names and hung them on the apple trees.

Using apples to make a pattern.

A basic apple painting with one red, yellow and green apple was hung on the wall near the easel.  The children then had an opportunity to paint a still-life painting themselves.  I like seeing things from their perspective!

They spent some time cutting apples and using magnifying glasses to get a closer look and count seeds!

The teachers had a favorite activity too!  A sensory bin was filled with mulling spices and dried apples which made the room smell wonderful.  The kids just had a great time with the different textures.

And of course, a Happy Birthday song for Johnny Appleseed!
